Distribution of the Florida bromeliad weevil, Metamasius mosieri, within Florida is still unclear. The weevil has been found at the following places:

Collier County:
Rookery Bay; Corkscrew Swamp; Fakahatchee Strand; Collier-Seminole State Park

Glades County:
Fisheating Creek, Palmdale

Hendry County:
LaBelle; Big Cypress Seminole Reservation

Lee County:
Ft. Myers

Miami-Dade County:
Paradise Key

Palm Beach County:
Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge

Osceola County:
north central part of county, about 20 miles SE of Disney World

St. Lucie County:
Port St. Lucie

Sarasota County:
Laurel
